Schooling the Lawyers – Technology Talent Admission Scheme (TechTAS)
The Technology Talents Admission Scheme, while established, has seen minimal uptake due to its complexity and the onerous requirements on companies and applicants. It aims to attract technology professionals to Hong Kong through a quota system managed by the Innovation and Technology Commission. Participating companies must be recognized as eligible technology firms, secure a quota, and sponsor the candidate for an employment visa. The scheme mandates a balance between locally recruited staff and those admitted under the quota, complicating the extension process. Despite its availability, there are more straightforward pathways to achieve similar immigration outcomes.
